The Jungfrau Railway – Grindelwald Cable Car

In 1912, the Jungfrau railway was opened, celebrating a pioneering masterpiece of mountain railways. The Grindelwald cable car transported guests from Kleinen Scheidegg to the highest train station in Europe: The Jungfraujoch. The route is nine kilometres long, seven of which are inside a tunnel. The railway passes through the Eiger and Mönch mountains. During the entire 35-minute route, the Jungfrau railway covers a total of 1,400 meters of elevation.
